So I drew this one after some experimentation, some of which you can see scattered around on the page below. I really liked this one, but then had huge problems trying to recreate it
Got really close on these ones here. But even the inked one on the right isn't 100%. the head is too wide, and the angles on top of the head have been unconsciously toned down. It's quite hard to get. There are A LOT of tiny things to remember to get the look I initially had (top).I think I got it now though...
Head shape...egg shape, large cranium, eyes BELOW the half way point
Eyes angle slightly OUTWARD
Smile line MEETS the half way point
Lip doesn't stick out too much
Large positive space between eyes and side of hairline to open up the skull and give it room to breathe. (old technique...leaving lots of space on a face draws attention to areas of detail where you need your audience to look...the expression)
These and about 800 others make up this bastard.
Personally I think it's good to go to the next stage, with a semi model sheet and such. If anyone has any better drawings or any ideas to make this one better, now is the time to tell us. If you like it, leave a comment. If you don't like it, leave a comment.
THANKS TEAM! SEE YOU ALL QUITE SOON!

This is the one we should go for. He's got just the right mix of cockyness and appeal.
ReplyDeleteThat appeal...oh man...it's, like, the hardest thing to get!
ReplyDeleteStill, I'm glad you think he has it
APPEAL GET!
Da Da da Daaaaaaaaa!
I gotta say, something about his quiff I'm not sure about, but now I am being fussy... Because you know I like this guy!
ReplyDeleteThis is probably the only time I'll ever use these 3 words, I apologies for lack of diplomacy...
